Room Redo #1

Recently, I have decided to redecorate my bedroom and I thought I would share the journey with all of you! Although only certain items have been changed so far, I just couldn't wait to share the exciting news! I figured that I would do one or two more posts on this subject once more has been accomplished as well.

One of my first changes I made was choosing this fantastic ribbon light fixture which reminded me a lot of Kate Spade and just screamed preppy! Never did I imagine that I would find a "preppy" light fixture, but then I discovered this one on Wayfair! Next, I tackled my bed by purchasing this adorable anchor pillow before even knowing what the duvet or sheets were going to look like. It was just too cute to pass up! Then, I had such a great time picking out this fun but subtle headboard and some sheets/quilt to go with it. I was lucky enough to snag this Kensie Home flamingo, reversible quilt at my local Home Goods and the patterned sheets at a Pottery Barn Outlet. Even though all of these items have patterns on them, the cohesive color scheme ensures that they all work together. I hope you guys enjoy this new aspect of my blog and I can't wait to report more changes that I make in the future!

Favorite Starbucks Drinks

If you guys haven't already figured out I am a coffee addict and have been for quite some time. Additionally, I am absolutely on Team Starbucks and have been since my very first cup of coffee (it only took one vanilla latte to get me hooked)! Therefore, over the years I have adapted and compiled some personal favorite drinks that I would love to share with you all today!

1. Cinnamon Dolce Latte
This latte tastes like fall in a cup to me even when it isn't fall and is my go-to FAVORITE latte! I drink this year round, even on hot summer days. It tastes both fabulous hot as well as cold! I like to have it made with soy milk (which makes it creamier, in my opinion) and ask for no whipped cream to cut some of the calories.

2. Passion Tea Lemonade
This refreshing summer drink is always one of my top choices. One fun twist that I always do to this drink is ask for half classic syrup, half raspberry syrup. The combination of the tangy passion fruit with the sweet raspberry is perfect to quench your thirst! I also like this drink a lot because it's not super sweet like some lemonades can be.

3. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino
Although it may be hard to believe, I'm not a huge frappuccino fan. Between the amount of calories in them as well as how full they make me, I just typically don't order them. However, when I do choose to splurge (and I loved the Mini Frappuccino's for this) my all time favorite is the Caramel Ribbon Crunch. To me this has the most delicious caramel flavor and I love the small crunchy bits on top!

4. Pumpkin Spice Latte
To say I am excited about the changes that Starbucks is making to this latte is a large understatement. I was so happy to hear the news that Starbucks was going to be using real pumpkin as well as removing the caramel coloring in this year's Pumpkin Spice Lattes. This latte has always been a favorite of mine since fall is my absolute favorite time of year! A small part of me dies each winter when my local Starbucks runs out of the ingredients to make this. However, like with the Cinnamon Dolce Latte, I always get it prepared with soy milk and no whipped cream.

5. Eggnog Latte
Last but not least, the latte that warms my heart when I can no longer get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, is the Eggnog Latte. Although this is again a seasonal drink, I truly believe it is one of the best at Starbucks! They do a perfect job with using the eggnog but not letting the flavor overpower the latte. If this doesn't make you want to sit around a fireplace or wear adorable mittens, I don't know what will. I know for sure that it always puts the spring back in my step while trudging through the cold!

I hope you all enjoyed this list and love these drinks just as much as I do. Happy caffeinating!

Getting To Know Me

I wanted to write this post so that all of you could get to know me a little bit better! Some wonderful questions have been asked of me on various social media outlets, so I'll make sure to answer those as well as provide additional information below!

Q: When is your birthday?
A: My birthday is September 21st, so it's coming up really soon!

Q: What is something your readers may not know about you?
A: I am a vegetarian and have been for my whole life.

Q: What is your favorite store/brand?
A: That is a very tough question for me because I love so many! I would have to say J.Crew, Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer, Boden, Longchamp, L.L. Bean, Vince Camuto, Chatham Ivy, Jack Rogers, Country Club Prep, Tory Burch and Eliza B.

Q: What are some of your favorite things?
A: Hmmmm definitely coffee, monograms, animals, hummus, blazers, traveling and fall!!

Q: What are five articles of clothing you think every woman should have in her closet?
A: Definitely a good blazer, a classic white button down, a well-fitting pair of jeans, a pair of nude pumps/heels and pearl earrings.

Q: What's your best piece of fashion advice?
A: Make sure you have all of the classic staples in your closet before purchasing the trendier pieces. I am all about classics and strongly feel that they are the base that creates a wonderful wardrobe. Additionally, make sure to buy good quality, classic pieces, because they'll never go out of style and you'll find yourself reaching for them time and time again. You don't want your favorite white button down to start coming apart at the seams when you're about to go out on a date!

I hope this has allowed you all to get to know me a little bit better! If I didn't answer any questions that you would like to know please feel free to leave a comment below or ask me on Instagram or Twitter (by searching a_classic_touch)!

Funky Floral

One of my favorite aspects of summer is wearing fun patterned shorts like the ones pictured below. Since I'm fairly short (5'2), sometimes bigger patterns aren't proportionally correct for me to wear in pants or dresses. However, that doesn't stop me from loving them just the same. Luckily brands and designers make adorable shorts in the same patterns, which I always stock my closet with. This black and cream pair were on such a great sale, I just couldn't say no! I then chose to pair them with a silky, racerback camisole and these amazing statement earrings! Make sure to check out the links below to find out where to purchase all of these wonderful items!

One Dress, Three Ways

Lilly Pulitzer Dress: similar (here or here)
Left: Shirt // Coach Sandals (similar) // Watch // J.Crew Factory Bracelet
Center: Sandals // Bracelet // Earrings
Right: J.Crew Blazer (similar) // J.Crew Sandals (no longer available online) // Lilly Pulitzer Pendant Necklace

I love dresses, especially those that are classic and can be worn multiple ways. Some key components a dress should have so that this idea can be achieved is a flattering silhouette, a good fabric and a timeless style. One of my favorite dresses that I am able to wear multiple ways is this Lilly Pulitzer navy, lace dress which I found at the Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale this past summer. It fits like a glove, has adorable cap sleeves and isn't too long on me (a true plus)! I recently wore it for a casual day of shopping so I decided to tie a chambray shirt over it and pair it with simple nude wedges and fun accessories. Additionally, I wore it to an outdoor wedding I attended in July with some classic white sandals and simple silver jewelry. Lastly, I think this dress could easily be adapted for an office/work environment. By pairing it with a statement blazer (this one has adorable details under the collar and on the lining), nude sandals and a dainty necklace, it makes the transition from casual to professional extremely well. I hope some of you try to repurpose your dresses as well!
